The deep love I have for Hawai’i inspired this painting.
I aimed to celebrate and emphasize many of the beautiful aspects of Hawai’i’s natural environment and culture as well as an individual’s connection to the islands.
I incorporated native species such as 'Ōhi'a lehua, the loulu palm, and humuhumunukunukuapuaʻa. Kalo (or taro), a significant plant in Hawaiian culture, grows out of the heart.
This is for anyone who has fallen for the land & seas of beautiful Hawai’i.
